It was reported in March that Suriya is joining with the Singam director Hari for the film titled 'Aruvaa'. Now the latest buzz is that the project is not happening anytime soon and consider it dropped.

Some latest reports suggest that actor Arun Vijay replaced Suriya for the film. If it happens, this will be the first film for Hari to direct his brother-in-law Arun Vijay. Recently some pictures surfaced online which shows the rural avatar of Arun Vijay and claims the new look with handlebar mustache is for 'Aruvaa'.

Raashi Khanna was said to appear as the female lead in the movie, which also features senior actor Vadivelu in a pivotal role. However, we have to wait for the official statement from the makers of the film, producer Studio Green's Gnanavel Raja to know the real status of the film. In an interview Gnanavel Raja said that 'Aruvaa' is a complete mass entertainer with family sentiments with mix of Suriya-Hari duo's 2007 hit 'Vel' and the Karthi recent blockbuster 'Kadaikutty Singam' released in 2018.

Meanwhile, Suriya is currently awaiting the release of Sudha Konagara’s 'Soorarai Pottru' which is reportedly based on the life of Air Deccan founder, GR Gopinath. The actor will start shooting for Vetrimaaran’s 'Vaadi Vaasal' once the Government grants permission to conduct film shoots in Tamil Nadu.

Arun Vijay, on the other hand, is currently dubbing for his upcoming film, Sinam. He also has Agni Siragugal and Boxer in the pipeline. The actor will also feature in the upcoming drama, Mafia: Chapter 2.
