After the success of Atlee directed 'Bigil', Thalapathy Vijay completed his 64th movie 'Master' with 'Maanagaram' and 'Kaithi' fame director Lokesh Kanagaraj.

Though there are no official announcement on Vijay's 65th film dubbed as 'Thalapathy 65', it is confirmed that Vijay is reuniting with AR Murugadoss for the fourth time after 'Thuppakki', 'Kaththi' and 'Sarkar'. To be produced by Sun Pictures, we reported recently that Murugadoss gave the final narration to Vijay, and currently, they are in talks to finalize the budget with Sun Pictures.

While earlier reports said that Kajal Aggarwal might pair with Vijay after movies like 'Thuppakki', 'Mersal' and 'Jilla, now the latest reports per section of media making the rounds that actress Tamannaah might be paired with Vijay in the movie. Tamannaah and Vijay had earlier acted together a decade ago for Vijay's 'Sura', which is his 50th film.

However, sources close to Vijay say that the report is nothing but a baseless rumour as they haven't initiated talks with any actress yet.

Thaman has been confirmed to score music for the film but Murugadoss and Vijay are yet to lock the rest of the cast and crew. If everything goes as planned, Thalapathy 65 will go on the floors later this year depending on the coronavirus situation. Otherwise, the shooting will be pushed to next year and the makers will prefer to have a soft launch this year.

Meanwhile, Vijay's ardent fans are waiting for the theatres to reopen for the release of 'Master'. 'Master' features Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Malavika Mohanan, who made her Tamil debut in Rajinikanth’s Petta, plays the leading lady. The film also stars Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das and Andrea Jeremiah in key roles.
