Thalapathy 65
The fourth collaboration of Thalapathy Vijay and director AR Murugadoss tentatively titled 'Thalapathy 65' is all set to roll soon.

We had reported earlier that director Murugadoss is planning to narrate the revised version of the script. While Murugadoss’s last film with Rajinikanth starrer 'Darbar' turned out to be a box-office dud, the director is under pressure to give a hit with his next film and took extra time during this lock-down period to fine-tune the script for Vijay. Now we hear that Vijay had heard the final version of the story from tthe Dharbar director and super impressed with the script.

It was well known that the film will be produced by Sun Pictures, the latest is that a formal agreement has been locked with Vijay and director AR Murugadoss. This will be the fourth time and Vijay and AR Murugadoss will be joining hands after giving super-hit movies 'Thuppakki', 'Kaththi' and 'Sarkar'. Some reports also suggest that this film with Murugadoss will be a sequel to the duo’s blockbuster film Thuppakki.

According to reports, Santhosh Shivan will be handling the camera for 'Thalapathy 65' with Thaman confirmed to score the music. An official announcement regarding the cast and crew is awaited.

Initially, it was reported that Vijay will be paid a huge remuneration of Rs 100 crore for the film. Later due to COVID-19 situation, the makers had asked Vijay to consider cutting more part of his remuneration as they have planned to reduce the film’s budget. Now, apparently the makers had visited Vijay at his residence recently and sorted all the talks and have finalised the project.

Meanwhile, reports suggest that the actor will be collaborating with Sri Thenandal Films for Thalapathy 66 and it will be directed by Vetrimaaran.

On the other-hand, Vijay is currently awaiting the release of 'Master', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which was due for release in April but had to be postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. 'Master' features Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist. Malavika Mohanan, who made her Tamil debut in Rajinikanth’s Petta, plays the leading lady. The film also stars Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das and Andrea Jeremiah in key roles.

Vijay was last seen on screen in Atlee directed 'Bigil' in which he was seen playing father as well as the son. 'Bigil' also starred Jackie Shroff and Nayanthara, which collected over Rs 300 crore at the box-office and emerged as the highest grossing Tamil film of 2019.
