After giving blockbuster success, 'Viswasam', Ajith teamed up with director H Vinoth for Bollywood film 'Pink' Tamil remake 'Nerkonda Paarvai', which also received great reviews from the audience and the critics alike.

'Nerkonda Paarvai' team, producer Boney Kapoor, director H. Vinoth and Thala Ajith collaborated once again for 'Valimai'. The shooting of 'Valimai' has been delayed due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, and the release of the film has been postponed.

Ajith plays a super cop in the film and almost fifty percent shooting was completed before the lockdown in Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad and in a few locations in Chennai.

It was earlier reported that Ajith informed the 'Valimai' team to resume shooting only after the COVID 19 situation eases out completely keeping in mind the safety of the cast and crew members.

Recently Tamil Nadu government has permitted film shooting with a maximum of 75 people. Following the government permission, few films have started shooting.

Now, 'Valimai' team is planning to resume the shoot in coming days. According to latest reports, the makers of the film are gearing up to start the shoot on or before October and Thala patch up with crew from November. The cast and crew are informed about the shoot with updated schedule.

Also, all the scenes of the film that were planned to be shot abroad are planned to be shot in India. Bankrolled by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP, 'Valimai', is now planning for Summer 2021 release, which was earlier planning for Deepavali release.

The 'Strength' film crew is planning a 2021 summer holiday release as the pre-planned Diwali release is not possible in the current scenario. Valimai also features Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi and actor Kartikeya Gummakonda as the lead antagonist. The music of the film is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, and the film will reportedly have five songs in total as per reports.
