Actor Karthi was last seen in 'Thambi' alongside his sister-in-law Jyothika. His previous movie ‘Kaithi’ with Lokesh Kanagaraj won a lot of appreciation from the critics and the audience.

Karthi is currently working on Remo-director Bakkiyaraj Kannan's 'Sultan' and Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan'. 'Sultan' is a romantic family entertainer which marks 'Geetha Govindam' fame Rashmika Mandanna's debuts film in Tamil.

Now, the latest news is about Karthi’s next movie. Sources close to us have now revealed that Karthi is all set to team up for the second time with his ‘Komban’ movie director Muthiah. This project is expected to be bankrolled by Suriya under his 2D Entertainment banner.

Just like Muthiah's previous directorial ventures, this project too is expected to be a rural film. Confirmation of this news and details about the rest of the cast and crew are expected soon.

Karthi will be commencing work on the Muthaiah project after finishing the the current projects in hand. It is also revealed that the pre-production work is going on in full swing for the movie and that the team will kick start shooting for the project either after Karthi finishes his portions for Mani Ratnam’s Magnum opus ‘Ponniyin Selvan’.

Apart from ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ and ‘Sulthan’, Karthi is also said to be reprise the role of Prithviraj in remake of 'Ayyappanum Koshiyum'.
