Director Balaji Tharaneetharan, whomade directorial debut with 2012 comedy film 'Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom', directed 'Oru Pakka Kathai' before directing Vijay Sethupathi in 'Seethakathi'.

'Oru Pakka Kathai' with Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash in the lead role, never saw a theatrical release due to many reasons including censor issues and production delays and lying in the selves for more than three years.

This long delayed film is supposed to be the debut film of actor Kalidas Jayaram in Tamil, however 'Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum' became his Tamil debut. Also 'Oru Pakka Kathai' is actress Megha Akash's first film as actress.

During the delay of 'Oru Pakka Kathai', Balaji Tharaneetharan meanwhile directed 'Seethakathi'. Since the pandemic beeline of films releasing on OTT platforms and makers of 'Oru Pakka Kathai' using this as right time and inked the deal with Zee5 to release the movie directly in streaming platform.

The entire team of 'Oru Pakka Kathai' is now happy because the audience can finally watch the movie. 'Oru Pakka Kathai' is premiering on Zee5 from September 25, 2020.
