Madhavan 'Maara' goes for direct OTT release
Actor Madhavan was last seen in Vikram Vedha with director duo Pushkar-Gayathri, went on to become a blockbuster and is currently being remade in Hindi.

The actor is currently busy with his upcoming film 'Maara'. The shoot of the film begun earlier this year and post-production work was going on during the lockdown period.

The makers of the film have revealed in June that the shooting of the film is completed and the editing and post production work would be wrapped up soon.

The film is the Tamil remake of critically acclaimed Malayalam hit 'Charlie', which had Dulquer and Parvathy in the lead.

The romantic drama is directed by debutant Dhilip Kumar who helmed the critically-acclaimed short film Kalki. The film has Shraddha Srinath playing his lead pair, who had shared the screen space with Madhavan in Vikram Vedha.

The latest update on the film is that the makers are planning to release the movie directly on OTT platform. The streaming platform and the release date are yet to be announced. Meanwhile Madhavan and Anushka starrer Nishabdham will also be releasing in OTT.

Few weeks ago the actor took to Instagram to share his new look for the film and he rocked with the salt-and-pepper look! The picture of his transformation from a rugged man into a suave-looking chap seems to have taken the internet by storm.

Reports are that while Madhavan will be playing a man at 40s, Shraddha Srinath would be seen as a teenage girl crossing her 20s. The film will have music by Ghibran.

Pramod Films is bankrolling the Tamil remake which also has Sshivada Nair, stand up comedian Alexander Babu and Mouli.
