'Putham Pudhu Kaalai', an anthology by top directors for Amazon Prime Video

We reported few weeks back that directors like Gautham Menon, Karthik Subbaraj, Sudha Kongara are making an anthology for Amazon Prime Video. Now the film has been officially announced with the title, release date and cast information.

The anthology is directed by five eminent filmmakers including Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Sudha Kongara, Rajiv Menon, Gautham Menon and Karthik Subbaraj during the COVID-19 lockdown. This is going to be an Amazon Original Movie and all set to premier from October 16 across 200 countries.

Actor-Composer GV Praksah confirmed he is part of the anthology and revealed the promo video and the directors of the film by tweeting, "Super happy to be a part of this project. Can’t wait for you guys to catch #PuthamPudhuKaalai on @PrimeVideoIN, Oct 16th. #SudhaKongara @dirrajivmenon @gauthamvasudevmenon #KarthikSubbaraj @suhasinihasan".

According to filmmakers, Putham Pudhu Kaalai was shot in compliance with rules and regulations set by the Film Employees’ Federation of South India for filming after the lockdown was lifted. The stories feature themes of love, new beginnings, second chances, and a glimmer of hope.
Here are the five parts of the films:
  1. Ilamai Idho Idho, directed by Sudha Kongara, stars Malayalam actor Jayaram, Kalidas Jayaram, Urvashi and Kalyani Priyadarshan.
  2. Avarum Naanum/Avalum Naanum, directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, stars MS Bhaskar and Ritu Varma.
  3. Coffee, Anyone? is directed by and also stars Suhasini Mani Ratnam along with Anu Hasan and Shruti Haasan.
  4. Reunion, directed by Rajiv Menon, starring Andrea Jeremiah, Leela Samson and Sikkhil Gurucharan
  5. Miracle, directed by Karthik Subbaraj, starring Bobby Simha and Muthu Kumar.
