Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is known for the action thrillers 'Maanagaram' and 'Kaithi'. The director's thrid movie 'Master' with Vijay is awaiting release.

While Lokesh Kanagraj's blockbuster Kaithi starring Karthi is all set to be remade by Ajay Devgn in Hindi, the latest news is about his first full-length direction 'Maanagaram' Bollywood remake.

The critically acclaimed 'Maanagaram' was released in 2017 which featured Sri, Sundeep Kishan, and Regina Cassandra in the lead roles. Charle, Madhusudhan Rao, Munishkant, and Vivek Prasanna played supporting roles in the film.

To be produced by Shibu Thameens, Cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Santhosh Sivan will direct the Hindi remake. Vikrant Massey has been signed to play the lead role reprising the role of Sundeep Kishan. Sanjay Mishra is also on board for a very important role.

Vikrant Massey is a popular lead actor in OTT platforms Web-series. When talking about the film to leading portal, the producer of the film Shibu said that the film will start rolling from January 10th in Mumbai and the entire film will be shot at night, like the original 'Maanagaram'.

Crediting Santosh Sivan, the producer said it is going to be a visual treat in Hindi. Shibu said the characters in Hindi version will be more detailed than in the original. He added that the selection process for the female lead is going on.

As Lokesh's last two films are getting remade in Hindi, will the director's upcoming film 'Master' also join the remake list soon? Earlier, there were reports that the makers are planning to dub 'Master' in Hindi for a direct theatrical release.
