Ernakulam-based Malayali police officer Prasad Parapuram is making his writing debut with the the film. 'Colors' is directed by a popular Mollywood director, Nissar. A very well-known production company in the Middle-East, LimeLight Pictures, is making their Kollywood production debut with this movie.

The movie casts Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Iniya, Ramkumar, and Mottai Rajendran as the lead actors in the movie. The music of the movie will be composed by S. P. Venkatesh, cinematography by Sajan Kalathil, editing by VS Vishal.

Apart from 'Colors', Varalaxmi will be seen in the Telugu biggie - 'Krack', that stars Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. In Tamil, Varalaxmi has few other projects including 'Kaatteri', 'Kanni Raasi', Piranthal Parasakthi, 'Ranam', 'Pamban', 'Chasing', 'Naandhi', which are in different stages of production.
