Vijay Sethupathi's one more going for OTT release following 'Ka Pae Ranasingam'

Vijay Sethupathi’s long delayed 'Maamanithan' to release in Amazon Prime Video or Zee5 or ZeePlex
It is well known that Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film 'Ka.Pae.Ranasingam' is scheduled for October 2nd release on Zee Plex, a pay-per-view service on Zee5 and DTH.

Now we hear that Vijay Sethupathi starrer long delayed 'Maamanithan', directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy is heading for direct OTT release.

'Maamanithan' was completed an year ago and said to be in post-production stage, but didn't fix any release date due to production issues. And finally the makers are planning to release it on online streaming platform.

Reports suggest that the makers are in talking terms with leading streaming platforms and once they strike the deal with the streaming partner, an official announcement will be made soon.

'Maamanithan' has Vijay Sethupathi in the lead with Gayathrie S as his lead pair. 'Baby' Manasvi, who was seen in 'Imaikka Nodigal', will apparently by playing the couple’s child. The star cast also has Guru Somasundaram and Shaji Chen playing pivotal roles.

The film has music by maestro Ilaiyaraaja and his sons Yuvan Shankar Raja and Karthik Raja. Maamanithan is bankrolled by Yuvan Shankar Raja under his banner YSR Productions along with K Productions and Vasan Movies and this happens to be his second production venture after Pyaar Prema Kadhal.

'Maamanithan' was shot in Madurai and in various places including Varanasi, Kerala and Rameswaram. Seenu Ramasamy and Vijay Sethupathi had first teamed up for 'Then Merkku Paruvakaatru', which went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil. They then worked together in 'Dharma Durai' which also fetched a positive response from the audiences.

'Idam Porul Yeval' is long delayed film in their combo which is yet to see the light of the day. Counting the unreleased 'Idam Porul Yeval', 'Maamanithan' is their fourth collaboration.
