Star India will be launching one more channel for Tamil viewers especially for music lovers. The Walt Disney company's subsidiary Star India Pvt Ltd already owns Star Vijay and Star Vijay Super.

While Star Vijay aka Vijay TV is the main stream general entertainment channel and Star Vijay Super is dedicated to movies, so far Vijay TV group didn't have any channel dedicated for music/songs.

Now Star India is all set to launch the music channel branded 'Star Vijay Music' for Tamil audiences. The new channel was expected to launch in March this year, was put back due to the coronavirus pandemic.
'Star Vijay Music' will be launched during the grand opening ceremony of Bigg Boss season 4 by Kamal Haasan on Sunday, October 4 across various platforms in India. The new Star Vijay Music channel has live shows, call-in audience participation shows with exclusive collections and premieres.
It is worth to mention that Nagarjuna, who hosts the Telugu version of Bigg Boss, launched the new logo for Star Maa, Star India's Telugu speaking channels, on the grand opening of Bigg Boss Season 4.
Star Vijay Music will compete with other Tamil music channels including Sun Music from Sun TV Network, IsaiAruvi from Kalaignar TV Network, Mega Musiq – part of Mega TV Network, Jaya MAX – part of Jaya TV Network, Raj Musix – part of Raj Television Network.

Star India group is also working on to launch another Tamil General Entertainment Channel 'Star Vijay Plus' soon.
