On September 23rd, Legendary actor and political leader of DMDK was tested positive to COVID-19 and admitted to the MIOT hospital in Manappakkam in Chennai.

DMDK party released a statement saying that he has recovered from COVID-19 and he will be discharged soon. The hospital said that Vijayakanth he showed mild Coronavirus symptoms and asymptomatic to coronavirus infection. He is responding well to non-invasive care, said the hospital.

Meanwhile, his wife and party treasurer Premalatha was also tested positive for the virus infection on Monday. She has been admitted to the same ward where her husband in undergoing treatment, doctors in Chennai’s Miot hospital said.

Premalatha was asymptomatic but she decided to get admitted because she wanted to take care of Vijayakanth, they said.

In the latest press release statement from the hospital, it was informed that the politician was stable and his health improved, that he could be discharged very soon.

The hospital said that Premalatha’s health is stable and under medical supervision.

Vijayakanth had other health complications that made treatment difficult, but he responded well, his doctors said.
