Thalapathy Vijay seems all set to play Chief Minister in the sequel of blockbuster film Mudhalvan?
It is a known secret for many that Vijay was Shankar’s first choice for the 1999 blockbuster 'Mudhalvan', a political action thriller, which was about a common man - a journalist who accepts the challenge to act as Chief Minister for single day.
However, for some reason, Vijay could not take up the offer then and it subsequently went to ‘Action King’ Arjun. 'Mudhalavan' then received great reviews to turn out as a blockbuster.
Recently director Shankar reveals why Vijay turned down the offer to play the lead role in 'Mudhalvan'. Shankar was a associate of Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar, approached his guru and Vijay's father SA Chandrasekar to cast Vijay for 'Mudhalvan', but the negotiation between both didn't work well.
Later SA Chandrasekar realized it was a big mistake in rejecting the offer. He was worried about his son missing the great opportunity, and said to Shankar that he should have discussed with him straightly.
Not while ago, it was rumoured that, Shankar has decided to shoot for 'Mudhalvan 2' when makers of 'Indian 2' are stuck in issues regarding crane accident in the shooting spot. Reports claimed that Shankar has decided to shoot for Mudhalvan 2 with Vijay in the lead and, the actor has agreed to be a part of it as he is impressed with the storyline.
It is worth to mention that Shankar indicated he would prefer Vijay as the lead protagonist if he ever made a sequel to Mudhalvan, in a film event.
While fans are awaiting Vijay's entry in politics, a political film from Vijay will raise the expectations among the fans during this election season. If it happens, it will be second film for Vijay with director Shankar after 'Nanban', which is a remake of Bollywood film '3 Idiots'. However, Shankar will need to finish 'Indian 2' with Kamal Haasan before joning Vijay for 'Mudhalvan 2', which is expected to be early next year.
If Shankar and Vijay joins for a 'Mudhalvan 2', it is indeed something that would excite every fan of this movie. And fans of Thalapathy Vijay are already in a jubilant mood at the prospect of seeing their matinee idol as a Chief Minister on screen.
