Akshara Haasan's upcoming film 'Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu' received international recognition yet again.

Akshara Haasan is playing a 19-yearold named Pavithra in her upcoming film, Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu (AMNP), directed by Raja Ramamurthy of America Mappillai fame. The movie is all set to skip its theatrical release and stream online directly on OTT platform Zee 5.

Not while ago, the movie has been selected to screen at the Caleidoscope Indian Film Festival Boston, US. Now the latest news is that AMNP has been selected for another film festival in US.

According to Akshara's latest tweet, AMNP has been selected to screen at the New Jersey Indian International Film Festival in US. Sharing the news, Akshara wrote "What a proud moment for us!  #AMNP has been selected for a film festival yet again! This time it's the New Jersey Indian International Film Festival! More updates soon!! @njiiff @kaiyavecha @amnp_thefilm @Trendloud @DoneChannel1 #AMNP #TrendloudOriginalFilm #NJIIFF", in her tweet. AMNP is touted to be a woman-centric film with Akshara Haasan playing the lead role. The trailer of the film will be launched by Akshara's father, actor and politician Kamal Haasan couple of weeks ago and the teaser of the film was released a month ago by Akshara's elder sister Shruti Haasan.

The director in an interview revealed that OTT release in fact helped the movie and his creativity. “I would be forced to make many compromises had Achcham Madam Naanam Payirppu been made for theatre. Only 20% of my vision would have been realized; it would have been an entirely different film. OTT release gave me that creative liberty to make the film suiting my vision and it helped,” the director revealed in an interview.

The makers promise the film to be a fairly enjoyable entertainer and at the same time, it calls for equality while calling out patriarchy. The movie seems to be hitting the right notes ahead of its release and it has to be seen if Akshara Hassan will be able to bag success. Usha Uthup, Anjana Jayaprakash, and Malgadi Shubha will be seen in other roles in the movie.

Akshara Haasan was last in Vikram's 'Kadaram Kondan (2019)' directed by Rajesh M Selva under Rajkamal International Films. Akshara Haasan played the character Aadhira, a pregnant woman living with her husband in Malaysia in the movie. The film heavily tanked at the box-office for its lack of engagement and connectivity.

Akshara made her debut in web series with Fingertip (2019) that also starred Ashwin Kakumanu, Sunaina, and Gayathrie. The first season of the series received positive responses from the audience.
