AR Murugadoss walks out of 'Thalapthy 65'

While adrent Vijay fans are expecting Vijay - AR Murugadoss film official announcement, there is a hot buzz in Kollywood circle that AR Murugadoss has walked out of his proposed film with Vijay to be produced by Sun Pictures.

Tentativeley titled 'Thalapathy 65', the film was supposed to be fourth time collabration of Thalapathy Vijay and filmmaker AR Murugadoss. SS Thaman has been roped in as the music director. The pre-production work for the same had already begun. However, according to sources close to the development, it has been confirmed that the project will not be helmed by director AR Murugadoss.

Rumours are doing rounds that AR Murugadoss has backed out from the project. Reports say that Vijay agreed to the project after listening to a one-liner from the director, but later not satisfied with the script that the director has come up with. Apparently, he wants the director to take some more time and rework it, but the filmmaker is confident that the script would work as is. Also, the actor had a few doubts over the political lines in the film, so he asked Murugadoss to narrate the script to Sun Pictures.

After listening to the script, Sun Pictures have told Murugadoss to make necessary changes but the director told them that his script is original and can't make any changes. After more discussions, the buzz in Kollywood is that Murugadoss has told Vijay that they could work on a project at a later date, and opted out of the project, and the star, too, has agreed to it.

An official confirmation for the same is awaited. Sun Pictures is excited to work with Vijay and asked the actor to choose some other filmmaker. Now, the big question on everybody's lips is, who will be the director of 'Thalapathy65'.

Meanwhile, Vijay is waiting for the release of his forthcoming Tamil film, Master. The film was scheduled to release in April but got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, Master also stars Vijay Sethupathi in a negative role and will be seen in a face-off with Vijay.

Malavika Mohanan, who made her Tamil debut with Rajinikanth’s Petta, Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das are also a part of the film.
