On the 'Action' film loss issue, The Madras High Court on Wednesday ordered Vishal to post a guarantee of Rs 8.29 crore to cover the losses incurred in the film.

Directed by Sundar C, 'Action' has Vishal in the leading role, also starring Tamannaah and Aishwarya Lekshmi. The movie bombed at box-office and the producer Ravindran of Trident Arts incurred heavy loss.

'Action' was made at an exorbitant budget of 44 crores after signing an agreement with the actor Vishal and the actor promised Ravindran that he would refund any losses incurred if Action doesn't yield a share of 20 crores from Southern states. At the end of the theatrical run, the film collected 7.7 crores in Tamil Nadu and 4 cr in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

To compensate the loss, Vishal had agreed to work on a film titled 'Chakra' with Trident Arts. However, the actor-director duo made Chakra with another producer.

Ravindran approached the Madras High court stating that Vishal owed the production house Rs 8 crore, to settle the losses of their film. He also wanted to stay the release of Vishal's 'Chakra' which was supposed to premiere on September 30 on a leading OTT platform.

Few days HC ordered stay on 'Chakra' OTT release and a hearing took place yesterday. According to the hearing, the judge ordered actor Vishal to post a guarantee of Rs 8.29 crore to cover the losses incurred in the film 'Action'.

We wish the issues between Vishal and Ravindran settle down soon. Hope we can see 'Chakra' soon on OTT.

Directed by MS Anandan, 'Chakra' features Vishal as a military officer, Shraddha Srinath playing the role of cop and Regina Cassandra playing another leading lady. Srushti Dange, Manobala and Robo Shankar form the supporting cast.
