Amazon Prime Video recently announced their first Tamil anthology film titled 'Putham Pudhu Kaalai'. The entire film was completely shot during the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to the press release, Putham Pudhu Kaalai team followed the rules and regulations which was set by the Film Employees' Federation of South India (FEFSI) during the shooting.

The official trailer for Amazon Prime Video's upcoming Tamil anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai was unveiled on Monday by director Mani Ratnam and composer A.R. Rahman.

The two-minute-long trailer starts with the announcement of a 21-day lockdown in India. The five stories deal with different relationships and how they make it through the lockdown.

One of the major highlights about the film is the bright and colorful visuals. Few shots bring up the trademark style of filmmakers, which offer a punch of excitement.

Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, Gautham Menon, Sudha Kongara, Rajiv Menon and Suhasini Maniratnam, the five different parts of the Putham Pudhu Kaalai are titled and casted as follows:
  1. Reunion (directed by Rajiv Menon) - Andrea Jeremiah , Leela Samson, Sikkil Gurucharan
  2. Coffee, Anyone? (directed by Suhasini Maniratnam) - Anu Haasan, Shruti Haasan.
  3. DiMiracle (directed by Karthik Subbaraj)- Bobby Simhaa, Muthu Kumar.
  4. Ilamai Idho Idho (directed by Sudha Kongara) - Jayaram, Oorvasi, Kalidas Jayaram, Kalyani Priyadarshan.
  5. Avarum Naanum / Avalum Naanum (directed by Gautham Menon) - MS Bhaskar, Ritu Varma.
The anthology premieres on the OTT platform on October 16, 2020.
