Disney + Hotstar announced today that Lady Superstar Nayanthara and RJ Balaji's 'Mookuthi Amman' is all set to release on its streaming platform for this Diwali.

Disney+ Hotstar on Friday announced the releases of five Tamil projects, which includes Nayanthara's 'Mookuthi Amman' and four other web series. Their new Tamil projects will be available for VIP and Premium customers.

While 'Mookuthi Amman' is releasing for this Diwali, the release dates of the web series' will be announced later.

RJ Balaji, who co-directs also doubled as an actor in the film, said "There is nothing greater than the joy of being able to entertain people through great movies. ‘Mookuthi Amman' is one such movie that I think will resonate with people. For a lot of people, Diwali is incomplete without new movie releases. In these tough times people need happiness, and I promise our film will bring that joy and celebration in this festive season.". RJ Balaji lso released the poster of the film at a virtual press conference.

Produced by Vels Films International, Balaji and NJ Saravanan have jointly directed the film.  Mouli and Urvashi are playing Balaji's parents in the film and Ajay Gosh is the villain. Lady Superstar Nayanthara plays the Godesses Amman in the film and for her character, the actress followed a strict vegetarian diet.

Dinesh Krishnan has cranked the camera for the film and Girish of Aval fame is composing the music.
