RJ Balaji's upcoming directorial venture 'Mookuthi Amman' had its trailer released today. The devotional drama is one of the most awaited films of Kollywood. Having Nayanthara in the lead role, the film also stars RJ Bajali in a key role, while veteran actress Urvasi will be seen playing the role of RJ Balaji's mother.

The trailer opens with the dialogue that the one who says he is an atheist is better than the one who claims his god is better than the other’s. The video also touches upon the issue of water pollution, albeit in an interesting manner. We see RJ Balaji’s character asking the goddess, “Your hair should be black but why is it brown like a foreigner?” To which Nayanthara replies, “I am being offered polluted/contaminated water, what do you expect?”

With the trailer, it is understood that the film will be about the arrival of a goddess in a family with an agenda. Her goal is to abolish self-proclaimed godmen who are cheating people in the name of god.Directed by RJ Balaji and NJ Saravanan, 'Mookuthi Amman' will premiere on Disney Plus Hotstar on November 14. Telugu version, titled 'Ammoru Thalli', will release simultaneously on Deepavali. The Telugu trailer of the film was launched by Mahesh Babu.

Produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International, the film's crew has composer Girishh G, cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan and editor RK Selva. The makers of Mookuthi Amman have decided to skip theatrical release due to delay in re-opening of theatres in the country.
