The teaser of Tamil psychological murder mystery 'Kuthiraivaal' was released by Pa Ranjith on Thursday.

'Kuthiraivaal' is directed by Manoj Leonel Jahson and Shyam Sunder, and co-stars Anjali Patil, Sowmya Jaganmurthy, Chetan Kadambi, Anand Sami, Lakshmi Paati, Arumugavel, Ravindra Vijay, Parithivaalan and Maanasa.

The first look poster of 'Kuthiraivaal' was released in August and Pa Ranjith called it a magic realism film. Sharing the teaser video, Ranjith wrote, “Dreams as hope or fear! The intriguing #KuthiraivaalTeaser is Out Now!”

The nearly two-minute-long clip features a tail-less horse and a confused Kalaiyarasan who finds himself with a horsetail. The lines blur between the two scenarios as Kalaiyarasan finds himself with the horse wondering about its missing tail. In a parallel scenario, the actor wakes up to find a tail on his back.

Few weeks back, 'Kuthiraivaal' has been officially selected for the prestigious Mumbai Film Festival. Interestingly, it is one of the five Indian films selected for the festival.

'Kuthiraivaal' is bankrolled by Vignesh Sundaresan's Yaazhi film, and Pa Ranjith's Neelam Productions. On the technical front, Karthik Muthukumar will handle the camera and MKP Gridaran will be on the edit. Pradeep Kumar and Maarten Visser have been roped in to compose the music. G Rajesh has penned the screenplay and dialogues.

Kalaiyarasan's work includes acclaimed films with Pa Ranjith like 'Madras' and 'Kabali'. Kalaiyarasan was last seen in Nayanthara-starrer 'Airaa' in 2019. The actor is currently waiting for the release of Dhanush's upcoming film with Karthik Subbaraj, 'Jagame Thanthiram', 'China' by director Harshavardhana, M Janakiraman’s 'Titanic Kadhalum Kavundhu Pogum', and Sriram D Prasath’s 'Puthiya Mugam'.

Marathi and Hindi film actress Anjali Patil made her Tamil film debut with 'Kaala'.

Meanwhile, Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Productions earlier had produced Pariyerum Perumal and Irandam Ulagaporin Kadaisi Gundu. Ranjith is currently working with Arya on 'Salpetta'. The boxing film will be bankrolled by K9 Studioz with Anbariv handling the stunts. Actors Kalaiyarasan, Dushara Vijayan, John Kokken, and Santhosh Prathap are also reportedly part of the film. According to reports, it is suggested that Ranjith has two more directorial ventures ahead.
