'Soorarai Pottru' is the first big star's Tamil film announced to have a direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video and had generated considerable buzz in the industry.
While the movie was originally slated for October 30 release. In a statement on Thursday, Suriya had penned a letter saying the film's release was likely to be delayed due to pending NOC approvals.
Now a good news comes for 'Soorarai Pottru' teams and fans that those NOCs have now been procured and Soorarai Pottru seems set to arrive on Amazon Prime on Diwali day.
The co-producer of the film, Rajsekar Pandian, said in a tweet today that the necessary NOCs from the airforce have been procured, and the new release date will be announced soon. He also mentioned "Festival of Lights" in his tweet, suggesting the film would premiere on Diwali day.

'Soorarai Pottru' also features actors Aparna Balamurali, Paresh Rawal and Mohan Babu in pivotal roles.
The film is produced by Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and co-produced by Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment.
