Comedy actor Thavasi who played several supporting and comedy roles in Tamil films for last three decades is now ill with Cancer and looking for financial aid.

The actor was well known from Sivakarthikeyan's 'Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam' in which he plays Soori’s father. His dialogue in the film “Karuppan Kusumbukkaran” is so popular.

Recently a video of him, in which he is hard to recognize, from the hospital was shared by an actor. Reports say the comedy actor is now in severe stage of cancer lost all his financial support. His present situation and his physical appearance has shocled many.

In the video the theatre actor said, "Thavasi Mama started his cinema career with Kizhakku Cheemaiyile. Everyone would have seen him as Soori's father in Sivakarthikeyan's Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam. He left an impact with his comedy and body language and everyone were impressed with his performance."
"He has now acted in Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Annaatthe. Look at him, now. His physical appearance has changed drastically. It is my humble request to all the people who are seeing this video. Please contribute how much ever you can and save our Thavasi mama. He is suffering from Cancer. He is a very lovable person who has always cared for his near and dear ones. He is not able to meet the financial needs to recover from Cancer. Share this video as much as possible and spread the word," he added.

The video has gone viral on social media. Now, Actor Soori has come forward to extended his helping hand to comedian Thavasi. Aware of the situation, Soori has donated Rs.20,000 as initial fund and ready to offer help when needed. Soori also promises three meal a day for Thavasi and his care taker.
