Valimai was planned for a Diwali 2020 release. Due to the pandemic situation, the shooting came to halt and now planning for Summer 2021 release.

Ajith's upcoming film 'Valimai' shooting resumed at Hyderabad from October 25 after eight months of break due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Thala joined the shoot for his portions in the film and recently the video of the actor travelling from his hotel room to the Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad gone viral on social media.

The latest update on the film is that the Hyderabad schedule has wrapped up. The shooting took place for about 20 days and the director H. Vinod canned all the difficult scenes that he planned for the film.

Some reports suggest that Ajith celebrated Deepavali on the sets of 'Valimai' with the rest of the crew and cast members one day in advance.

We hear that the crew is planning to travel overseas to shoot the motion sequences. International-shoot plans are not revealed so far and we hear that the makers are decided to shoot high octane car and bike chases as well as gravity-defying stunt scenes in foreign location.

If one may recall, prior to the virus outbreak in India team Valimai had plans of travelling to Spain and Morocco to shoot some action sequences.

While Thala fans were waiting for some updates on the film on the day of Diwali, the makers did not reveal upate on the film. A couple of months back, producer Boney Kapoor assured during an interview that the film will not have a direct release on OTT platform, after which there have been no official updates.

Yami Gautam, Ileana D'Cruz and Huma Qureshi will reportedly be seen as female leads. 'Valimai' additionally stars Karthikeya, and Yogi Babu. The movie is bankrolled by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP. Yuvan Shankar Raja scoring the music and Nirav Shah handling the camera.
