Som Shekar is a 28 years old MMA trainer, model and fitness trainer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He participated in Vijay TV's Vijay TV’s 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' show and become a runner-up. 

He was recently seen in Suriya's 'Soorarai Pottru' movie playing a small charater as Indian Airforce personnel. Now Som is one a contestant in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4.

In one of the episodes, When Bigg Boss asked housemates to write letter to someone they miss for Diwali, Som wrote a letter to his beloved pet Kuttu expressing how much he miss her.  

Later, Bigg Boss Season 3 contestant Sherin revealed in another episode to Som, that she cried listening to his letter and assured him that Kuttu is fine and healthy.
