AR Murugadoss was said to join hands with Vijay for the fourth time in the actor's next, and the film was reported to be produced by Sun Pictures.

Reportedly, there was a clash between AR Murugadoss and the production house, resulting in the actor opting out of the film and there were buzz that AR Murugadoss refused to take a pay cut for 'Thalapathy 65'.

After AR Murugadoss stepped out from 'Thalapathy 65' there was a big puzzle on the director for Vijay's next film. Already, there have been big names like Sudha Kongara, Perarasu, and Magizh Thirumeni that have been linked to this film.  

It is now buzzed that director Nelson Dhilipkumar might be wielding the megaphone for Vijay's next. Nelson, who debuted with Nayanthara's 'Kolamaavu Kokila' is awating release of Sivakarthikeyan starrer 'Doctor'. We have seen that Vijay has many times opting to work with an emerging director.

Vijay's film with Nelson Dhilipkumar is expected to be an out and out comedy entertainer, and it will be a good choice since Vijay was seen in the genre long back.

Meanwhile, Vijay will be seen next in 'Master' and the film is set to release in theaters for Pongal 2021. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has Vijay Sethupathi as the main antagonist, while Malavika Mohanan will be seen playing the leading lady. Andrea Jeremiah, Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das will be seen playing the key roles in the film
