Few days ago, actor Silambarasan announced that his upcoming film Eeswaran’s shooting was wrapped up.

Now the actor joined the sets of Venkat Prabhu’s Maanaadu in Pondicherry today, to resume shooting his portions.

The shooting of the film was halted due to the COVID19 lockdown and it was earlier reported that the Maanaadu shooting will commence from the first week of November.

Simbu been in the news for his physical transformation and recently completed the dubbing for Suseenthiran’s 'Eeswaran'. The actor has completed 'Eeswaran' shooting in record 28 days in his acting career. Billed as a rural drama, the movie was shot in Dindigul.

Soon after completing 'Eeswaran', the actor joined the 'Maanaadu' crew in Pondicherry. Simbu has updated on the 'Maanaadu' shooting in his Twitter space revealing his character name Abdul Khaaliq in the movie. Simbu tweeted "Name: #AbdulKhaaliq Place: #Pondicherry Mission : #Maanaadu", with a photo of him walking on the road. 'Maanaadu' has Kalyani Priyadrashan playing the female lead, with SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, and Manoj Bharathi in important roles. The film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Shooting was earlier stalled due to the coronavirus pandemic. Reports suggest that Maanaadu will be a political satire.

Simbu was last seen in 'Vandha Raajavathan Varuven', Simbu also has the Tamil remake of 'Mufti' and will be seen playing an extended cameo in Hansika Motwani’s 50th film titled 'Maha'.
