Silambarasan - Venkat Prabhu's much anticipated film 'Maanaadu' shooting is going on in Pondicherry. The makers have revealed the first-look poster of the film.

Couple of days ago, Simbu posted a poster of his character Abdul Khaaliq from the film performing namaz in the street in the mid of riot and announced the first-look will be released today. The poster has been captioned "Stand for what is right even if it means standing alone".

Today, the first-look poster from 'Maanaadu' been released and instantly went viral on social media. Venkat Prabhu revealed the first-look by welcoming Abdul Khaaliq, and wrote, "Maanaadu #MaanaaduFirstLook #Maanaadu #str #SilambarasanTR welcome #AbdulKhaaliq (sic)." The poster features Simbu with bleeding on his head and a bullet in his fore-head while doing namaz. Few hours later 'Maanaadu' team revealed another poster from the film. The second-look poster features Simbu pointing a gun at himself on his head and clones of Simbu around him.

The political thriller has has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead. The film also stars SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, Manoj Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, and Premgi Amaren. Produced by Suresh Kamatchi, the film will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Richard M Nathan and editing by Praveen KL. After multiple hiccups, 'Maanaadu' went on floors in early 2020 but halted due to COVID-19.

Simbu recently completed shooting for Susienthiran's 'Eeswaran', which is slated to release in theatres on Pongal 2021. The film also stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Nandita Swetha and Bharathiraja in important roles. He is also a part of Hansika's upcoming film, 'Mahaa'.

Simbu underwent a massive transformation during the lockdown and lost nearly 30 kgs. His sleek avatar is the talk of the town.
