Vikram's 'Cobra' team planning to resume shoot in Russia

The shoot of Vikram's upcoming film 'Cobra' with director Ajay Gnanamuthu had been halted because of the coronavirus pandemic. 'Cobra' team returned from Russia with out finishing the schedule due to lockdown.

The makers were initially planned to resume the shoot in October and wrap-up the talkie portion before Diwali. It was said that the director planned to shoot the remaining part of Russia scenes using VFX.

The latest we hear is that the 'Cobra' team changed their plans and looking forward to travel to Russia to finish the shooting in 25 days. Sources say the makers have already applied for the required permission to resume the shoot from mid-December.

On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami, team of Cobra has begun dubbing for the film. Cobra is said to be a super natural thriller which marks the debut of cricketer Irfan Pathan in films.

Vikram will be seen in seven different looks for the film. Irfan Pathan will be seen playing the role of French Interpol officer Aslan Yilmaz.

Besides Vikram and Irfan Pathan, the film’s cast includes director KS Ravikumar, Srinidhi Shetty, Sarjano Khalid, Miya, Padmapriya, Babu Antony, Mamu Koya, Robo Shankar, Kanika and Roshan Mathew.

Produced by Lalit of Seven Screen Studio, 'Cobra' will be releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. Music for the film is by AR Rahman, cinematography by Harish Kannan and editing by Bhuvan Srinivasan.

Other than 'Cobra', Vikram also has Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan', Gautham Menon's 'Dhruva Natchathiram', and Karthik Subbaraj's untitled film which also has his son Dhruv in an important role.
