'Annaatthe' comes to halt because of Rajinikanth's political entry?
Superstar Rajinikanth has confirmed that he will be launching his new political party in January 2021 and the announcement on his new political party will be out on December 31.

"In the upcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections, with the huge support of the Tamil Nadu people, will establish honest, transparent, corruption-free, spiritual politics(without any inclination towards any particular caste and religion). Arputham and Athisayam will happen", tweeted Rajinikanth.

After announcing his political entry, Rajinikanth has reportedly visited his brother, Sathyanarayana Rao in Bangalore on Monday to seek blessing as he is set to form his political party in January next year. It was also reported that Rajinikanth would be celebrating his birthday, which falls on December 12 with his brother.

With this new announcement, the three-decade-long wait of Rajinikanth's fans has come to an end. Now, the big question among the fans circle is that whether the actor would complete his ongoing project Annaatthe in Tamil.

With only five months for the Tamil Nadu Legislative elections, it was stated that Rajinikanth would finish shooting for his upcoming movie, 'Annaatthe' before taking the political plunge.

Meeting the media on Thursday evening, Rajinikanth made it clear that he would wrap up the shoot of his upcoming family action entertainer Annaatthe before actively taking part in the election campaign.

"The film's producer Kalanithi Maran asked me to take care of my health and requested not to worry about the progress of the film. But it's my duty is to complete the film before elections", said Rajinikanth.

The actor has more than 30 days left in the film but he has postponed the shoot due to the COVID19 pandemic. The production of 'Annaatthe' came to a halt in February earlier this year.

Earlier, the makers announced that the film would be completed by the end of the year and it will be ready for release for Pongal holidays. However, the plan did not materialize as the producers were concerned about the safety of Rajinikanth.

It is said Rajinikanth is playing a local political leader in Annaatthe. Rumour mills are abuzz that Rajinikanth is writing the majority of his punchlines in the movie.

Annaatthe boasts of an all-star supporting cast including Khushbu, Meena, Prakash Raj, Nayanthara, Keerthy Suresh, Sathish and Soori. D Imman, a long-time collaborator of Siva, is scoring the music for the film.
