Kandasamy which had Vikram and Shreya in the lead roles was produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu. Susi Ganeshan has directed this film.
The 100th day celebrations of this film were held in Nadigar Sangam (Actors Association). FEFSI president V C Guganathan has presided over this event. While launching this film a trust called Kandasamy Foundations was founded. This trust adopted 30 villages.
In the first step Vanni Velampatti village in Madurai District was adopted. In order to upgrade the primary scholl to high school an amount of Rs 3 Lakhs was donated. Industrialist K P Srinivasa Raja handed over the amount to Educational Development official Saraswathy.
People of Vanni Velampatti village gave away the shields to the cast and crew. Vikram while speaking on this occasion said,” It is an unbelievable thing these days for an actor if his film runs for 100 days. For all the fans it is the day of Deepavali when their favorite hero film is released.
In that way for me and my fans celebrate this Deepavali day once in two or three years only. The reason is that I wait and select good story. I learned my dancing in this Nadigar Sangam only. I use to yearn whether any producer will give me a chance. I am happy I am getting this shield in this dais.”
