16 Vayathinile to be remade in Kannada
After the success of his home production Maleyali Jotheyali, Golden star Ganesh is on a high. Currently the actor is working on two films; interestingly, both are remakes. Ullasa Utsaha, a remake of Telugu Ullasanga Utsahanga and Eno Onthara with Priyamani, a remake of Tamil film Kushi, starring Vijay and Jyotika. Both the films are in final stages and will hit screens soon. Meanwhile, he also had plans to remake Tamil blockbuster 16 Vayathinile, starring Kamal Haasan, Sridevi and Rajinikanth in lead roles. The film is a 1977 hit directed by ace director Bharathi Raja. The landmark film, which changed the melodrama of Tamil films, is considered as a masterpiece even today. The list doesn't end there. The star will also remake Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenga (DDLJ), an all time blockbuster in Bollywood starring Shahrukh Khan and Kajol. The film holds the record of the longest running film in the history of Indian cinema. There are also rumours that the actor may remake the recent Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots in Kannada. It sure looks like a very long list of remakes.
