Aayirathil Oruvan taught Reemma patience!

In India, you announce a movie today and release it ten months later, or at the most an year later. The first man to bend this rule was the man who bent all the other rules in the book – Kamal Haasan! While his comedy flicks come in quick succession, if he’s out to make a point, he’ll take his own sweet time! And now, it’s a trend that’s rubbing off on everybody! The time between the pooja of the film and its release could extend to two or even three years!

One such movie that took ever-so-long to make is Aayirathil Oruvan in the direction of Selvaraghavan. While the movie has received mixed responses from audiences fresh out of the Avatar experience – another tech extravaganza – the general opinion is that it is a commendable effort. Now that’s a start!

Given the long time spent in production, it’s quite natural that the cast got a little extra-familiar with each other. “Selva and I were more than just director and actor. We grew in friendship and even had our occasional differences, when we would get on each other’s nerves and not talk for days together! But now all’s well,” laughs Reemma, one of the lead ladies in the movie. “We were thrown together so much, that we all soon became very good friends and we had lots of fun. If you ask me what two years of Aayirathil Oruvan has taught me, I’d say it’s being patient! I’m a quick-tempered person, but now I’ve learnt to give people some time,” she reveals
