Prabhu Solomon who is currently directing Maina interacted with the media.Lot of Tamil films are being copied from English films these days. What do you think about that?

I also see a lot of English films. I watch English films to learn the latest technology. I don’t copy English films. Copying an English film is absurd. The reason, most of the English films is being adapted from novels. We have lot of novels here around us. We can adapt them. Directors should have the fortitude to do this.

Why are you not adapting novels?

Definitely I will be pursuing this in my next film. There is nothing wrong in using another’s story. It is a sad thing there is no writer for cinema stories. The reason if someone has a good story he wants it to direct himself. All the good story writers cannot become good directors.
