Tamil films are slowly making waves in the international arena. Proving this is the screening of some Tamil movies in various international film festivals in the recent times.
And now, a Tamil film festival is going to be held in Norway next month under the auspices of Moser Baer.
According to G Dhananjayan of Moser Baer, "in a bid to promote Tamil cinema globally, we have associated with Norway-based Tamil associations led by Vaseeharan Sivalingam’s VN Music Dreams and organising a Tamil film festival there from February 6 to 9."
The Tamil films selected for screening at the festival include Subramaniapuram, Pasanga, Naadodigal, Anjathey, Nandalala, Ee, Peranmai, Poo, Raman Thediya Seethai, Mayandi Kudumbathaar.
Some of the filmmakers who had directed these movies, including Sasikumar, Mysskin, Samuthirakani and S P Jananathan will be attending the festival.
"It is a first such initiative to reach out to the Tamils in Norway. The festival would also be screening some films made by local Tamils there to encourage local talent," Dhananjayan added.
