Saravanan is back with 'Vilai'

Saravanan, who debuted as hero in the late eighties and was billed as poor man's Vijaykanth, hit it with big time with 'Paruthiveeran' after being in hibernation for many years. He's again back to playing the lead role and has been cast to star in the film 'Vilai' opposite Udhayathara. The film, directed by G. Kamaraj, also stars 'Nadodigal' Bharani, Reetu and 'Silandhi' Chandru. Banuchander plays a pivotal role in the film.

Actor Saravanan

"The film is about abduction and extortion of ransom money…it would be very different from the run-of-the-mill stuff that's dished out in Kollywood quite often. We have dared to be different in every aspect; even the stunt sequences have been shot in a never-before-seen manner. The film has Madurai as its backdrop.

"Many sequences have been filmed at Periyapalayam, Tirukkandalam and the surrounding areas. We won't display the placard at the beginning ofthe film stating that 'All incidents and characters have no reference to real life characters' because the film has been based purely on real life incidents and characters and would have references to living persons too," says Kamaraj.

Dialogues are written by Gomathi Chezhiyan while D. Imaan takes care of the music. Snehar writes the lyrics while Prbhakar is the cinematographer.
