The Vasanthabalan-directed 'Angaadi Theru' is the latest entrant into the Pongal race.  Already, large confusion is prevailing as to which of the films would be releasing on Pongal and which won't be releasing.  'Angaadi Theru' is in the making for quite some time and has generated a lot of expectation among movie-goers as it would be Balan's next film after the critically acclaimed 'Veyil' a couple of years back.


The film was delayed mainly due to distributor Aingaran Films' fiscal crisis.  Now that Aingaran is breathing freely following the success of 'Peraanmai', it plans to release 'Angaadi Theru' as soon as possible, most probably on Pongal eve.  The reason given for Aingaran's decision is that both the big films 'Goa' and 'Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai', scheduled earlier for a Pongal release, would now be releasing only after Pongal.
