Paiyya (also spelt as Paiya), starring Karthi and Tamannaah, will not grace theatres as scheduled (Feb 19). Instead, director Lingusamy has decided to postpone the release to coincide with the summer vacations. Sources close to him adds that the decision came because of the annual exams and IPL matches round the corner.
Paiyya is an urban story that depicts some interesting events happenings in the lives of a pair of lovers. The movie was shot in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai. The music of this Karthi-Tamannaah starrer, released early in November, is already a runaway hit. Director Lingusamy has assured that Karthi will appear in a never-seen-before look.
Director Lingusamy is also planning to remake the film in Hindi and Telugu after the release of the Tamil version.
