Gautam Vadudev Menon’s much-hyped ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya’ starring Simbu and Trisha in lead roles, is on the threshold of release.  The film brings together Simbu and Trisha, said to be close friends in real life, for the second time after the pair’s forgettable first outing in ‘Alai’ in the year 2001.  At that time, both Simbu and Trisha were yet to find a foothold in the industry.  Now that both are established stars in their own right, viewers might be in for a surprise when the film actually releases.

The Board appreciated the way the film has been made but said that they had to award the ‘U/A’ certificate as the film had many ‘passionate’ smooches between Simbu and Trisha.  The kisses, meant as an expression of love, were blatant lip-locks which forced the Board to award thefilm an ‘U/A’ certificate.

The Board, however, said that the smooches were pictured in an aesthetic manner.  Trisha plays a Malayalee girl by name Jessee in thefilm .  This would be the first release in Tamil for A.R. Rahman after winning his twin-Oscars late last year and twin Grammys this year.  As such, expectations are high among the musician’s fans.
