Director Gowtham Menon had mentioned in an interview that he did not understand why Sasikumar is being praised so much.


When asked about this to Gowtham Menon, he said,” I have not mentioned any statement like this. I only mentioned that films like Subramaniapuram will get awards and mentioned that my films are not of that genre. Because of the affection I have for him I wanted to direct the film which I will be producing. Even now I want him to direct my film. “

How is the reception of the film Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya?

I had given whatever was required to the story of Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya. I was a bit worried that how people will take this. But the worry had gone after the release of this film. Everybody who saw the film said that this film seems to have happened in their lives. The film is a great success in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra and Karnataka.


Is Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya is a fiction or a real incident?

This story is about two persons whom I have met. Even now they are there. But I will not tell who they are. If I tell, it would become a big problem. I have also included some of my imaginations in that lovers story.

After Minnale, the films Kaaka Kaaka, Vettaiyadu Vilayaadu and Pacchaikili Muthucharam you directed were thriller films. How is it that you have chosen to do a romantic film?

I never plan that how my next film will be. I set aside a time to and will start writing. I write whatever comes to my mind and make it as a film.


What is your next film that you will be directing?

I will be directing a film which has Ajith in the lead role. This film is being produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri. After this I will be directing a film produced by Soundarya Rajnikanth.

There is news that you will be joining Harris Jayaraj?

There is no such idea for me.

Will Ajith be like in his other films or will he appear differently?

Like how Simbhu appeared in Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya, Ajith will also sport a different look.
