Actor Karthi is quite happy at the more-than enthusiastic response received from the general public and movie-goers to his third film ‘Paiya’, which hit the screens last Friday. The film, pitting him opposite the beautiful and the picture-perfect Tamannaah, is said to be doing roaring business at the box-office all over the State.
“I had earlier worked with Ameer and Selvaraghavan for years together for two films. Fortunately, Lingusamy (director of ‘Paiyaah’) completed this film in just six months. I have decided to give my call-sheet in future only to those who assure me that the film would be completed within six months’ time. I feel it’s time for me to move on and star in more films. Three films in four years is very less,” said Karthi.
Talking about Tamannaah, his co-star in the film, Karthi says that what struck him the most about Tamannaah was the sincerity and commitment she showed to her profession. She would always try to be in front and would keep on asking others about which sequence would be shot next so that she could stay prepared.
When a scribe asked about the sizzling on-screen chemistry he had with Tamannaah in the songs of the film, Karthi refused to be drawn into controversies and said that he would once again like to reiterate the fact that Tamannaah was nothing more than an ‘affable and friendly co-star’.
Karthi also revealed that his ‘dream role’ would be to play villain in a film starring his elder brother Suriya as the hero.
