தமிழ் திரையுலகில் 1990 களில் முன்னணி கவர்ச்சி நடிகையாக இருந்தவர் சில்க் ஸ்மிதா. 500க்கும் மேற்பட்ட படங்களில் நடித்துள்ளார்.

அவர் டான்ஸ் இருந்தால்தான் படம் ஓடும் என்று தயாப்பாளர்கள் போட்டி போட்டு ஒப்பந்தம் செய்யும் அளவுக்கு அவருக்கு ரசிகர் பட்டாளம் இருந்தது.

அன்புக்காக ஏங்கிய அவரை பலர் போலியாக காதலித்து ஏமாற்றினர். சொத்துக்களை இழந்த அவர், இறுதியில் வாழ்வில் வெறுப்படைந்து தூக்கில் தொங்கி இறந்தார். சில்க் ஸ்மிதாவின் வாழ்க்கை வரலாறு சினிமா படமாகிறது.

இந்தி, தமிழில் ஏக்தாகபூர் படத்தை தயாரிக்கிறார். மிலன்ருத்யா இயக்குகிறார். சில்க்ஸ்மிதா கேரக்டரில் நடிக்க வித்யாபாலனிடம் பேசி உள்ளனர்.


Ekta Kapoor's next film, that chronicles the life of the infamous actress Silk Smitha, is reportedly in pre- production, and the lead is rumoured to be Vidya Balan!
The film reportedly does not revolve around the sleazy image that the late actress got stuck with, instead it's about how the industry's complexity, stress and the eventual loneliness that led to her death. Silk Smitha was a screen siren, a cult figure that defied conventions and made it on her own, circumstances and alcohol drove her to what is believed to be a death by suicide.
Milan Luthria, who is currently making Once Upon A Time In Mumbai for Ekta's banner will be directing this film.
Vidya Balan, however, hasn't confirmed the news.
