New Delhi: India’s biggest icons are fast joining the world’s most popular microblogging service. Close on the heels of Sachin Tendulkar announcing his official presence on Twitter, it is the Big B himself jumping on the Twitter bandwagon.
Amitabh Bachchan in a mobile blog post on his popular blog announced, “Yipee. . I am on Twitter. . And you can follow me on . . @srbachchan . .love as always.”
Amitabh’s Twitter handle is @srbachchan, obviously inspired by son Abhishek Bachchan’s @juniorbachchan Twitter id.
Big B’s first tweet was also addressed to Abhishek.
A number of Bollywood celebrities are quite active on Twitter. Prominent amongst the Bollywood twitterati are Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, Shammi Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan. Amitabh’s daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is yet to join the microblogging service.
