There has been rumours floating around in Kollywood, that Shankar is going to direct the 3 Idiots remake in Tamil with Vijay as hero.

A source close to Shankar denied the rumours that he is doing the film produced by Gemini Film Circuit. The source made it clear- “Shankar sir in his illustrious career has never ever done a remake.

As a director he believes in making original mega big budget extravaganzas with top stars. Why should he water down his brand image now when he is all set to release the biggest ever movie in south cinema Endhiran with superstar Rajinikanth?”

Remember Shankar was a former associate of SA Chandrasekhar, Vijay’s dad and may do a film with him sometime in future, but it will be an original subject. Shankar as of now is busy finishing Endhiran and simultaneously working on the post-production graphic and special effects of the film.
