Chirpy Genelia has denied media reports that said she had gone to IIFA in Sri Lanka defying the sentiments of Tamils and the decree of SIFCC.

Genelia is said to be very much in Mumbai busy with her commitments. The bubbly actress said she was supposed to perform with some top stars but opted out of the event because she didn’t want to hurt the sentiments of Tamil people and of her love for Tamil cinema.

Genelia is expected to be in Chennai this weekend for her work in ‘Uthamaputhiran’. After the success of ‘Santhosh Subramaniam’ she bagged ‘Uthamaputhiran’ opposite Dhanush and an even bigger film ‘Velayudham’ has Vijay pairing with her after ‘Sachin’.
