Director Sarkunam is all excited about the success of his latest venture Kalavaani which has managed to generate a big buzz in the industry. "For a small film like Kalavaani, it was quite a boost when we got such great reviews from the media right from the very next day.

If the reviews had appeared a week later, the success would have been only middling. It was only because of the glowing reviews that the audience got intrigued and came to watch the film," the director said to a leading English daily.
Sarkunam has earlier worked as an associate with director Vijay of Kireedom and Madarasapattinam fame. "The most important challenge that new teams face is finance. Also, it is difficult to take your film to the masses, as they aren't familiar with the new cast," he added.
So, what next? "I've a couple of scripts in mind and I'm currently discussing with my team on which script to take up next. And no, most probably, it won't be set in a village," he revealed.
