The Tamil film industry is gearing up for the foundation stone laying ceremony for their housing project near Paiyanur on the outskirts of Chennai. The residential project came as largesse from the government of Tamil Nadu. Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi will lay the corner stone on Sunday, August 22, 2010.

On August 3 Tamil Nadu Labour Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi. Producer Council President Rama Narayanan, FEFSI chief VC Guhanathan, General Secretary G Siva, Treasurer Shanmugam, Directors' Council General Secretary RK Selvamani, the PRO Union's Vijayamurali, Nadigar Sangam treasurer Vagai Chandrasekhar a host of others from the 23 associations affiliated to the film industry visited Paiyanur and inspected the site and the arrangements made so far.

The housing project coming up in 110 acres allotted from public exchequer will also have a state of the art studio complex and a hospital. Rajinikanth is expected to lay the foundation for the Studio complex and Kamal Haasan for the hospital.
