The distribution story of two films

Actor-producer Prakash raj has at last managed to release his home production 'Inidhu Inidhu' last Friday against many odds. The film, a remake of the Telugu super hit film 'Happy Days' was completed a few months back but couldn't be released earlier due to unavailability of any solid distributor.

Reports said last year that Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies had acquired the release and distribution rights of 'Inidhu Inidhu', which stars a horde of newcomers and is directed by cinematographer Gugan. However, at the press meet in connection with the release of the film, Prakash raj openly said that he had been 'on the move' for the past many weeks all over Tamil Nadu and had only now managed to locate and find suitable theatres to release the film.

What then could be the role of Udhayanidhi? The same thing happens to be the case in connection with the release of Karthi's 'Naan Mahaan Alla'. The film, starring Karthi and Kajal Aggarwal in the lead, was reported to have been acquired by Dayanidhi Azhagiri's Clould Nine Movies. Queries with the film's crew revealed that it was actually Nemichand Jhabak who had taken over the task of distributing and releasing the film all over the State.

The role Udhayanidhi and Dayanidhi in the release of 'Inidhu Inidhu' and 'Naan Mahaan Alla' stops at both of them getting 10 per cent of the profits accruing form the release of these films respectively, it is reported. It is said that the names of the scions of the first family of the State were used to prop up the films' performance at the box-office.
