Rahman becomes Gautham’s partner

Gautham Vasudev Menon, who recently floated Photon Kathas Productions, has reportedly made his good friend A R Rahman as one of the partners of the company, which would make movies in south Indian languages.
Photon Kathas, which is hitting the London market with a public issue on October 15, is expected to be listed on Alternative Investment Market (AIM), which is London Stock Exchange's international market for growing companies.
If reports are to be believed, Gautham holds 29 per cent stake and he is the chief creative officer of Photon Kathas. Rahman holds three percent and the music maestro is the creative adviser. Other partners include Gautham's friends and peers, who hold the remaining shares.
A Britain newspaper quoted Photon Kathas as saying: "The film industry in the south is fragmented, inefficient and fails to exploit its intellectual property rights. However the market is large. The industry in the south accounted for around 60 per cent of the films made in India last year."
