Shakthi Chidambaram's Cinema Paradise acquires Kavalan rights

It’s official now. The distribution rights of Vijay’s forthcoming film ‘Kavalan’ have been acquired by Cinema Paradise, a production house run by popular filmmaker Shakthi Chidambaram.

“The rights have been bagged by Shakthi Chidambaram for a whopping price since he found the film a safe bet considering various factors like Vijay, Vadivelu, Asin and Siddique”, sources in the know say.

A remake of Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’, ‘Kavalan’, produced by Romesh Babu is the 51st film of Vijay and it brings together the actor with ace Malayalam director Siddique, along with whom he delivered the memorable ‘Friends’ a decade ago.

On the film, Vijay says, “It will have action, romance and humour at right mix. I admire director Siddique, who has a firm grip on the story. It is not a raw action film as the title would suggest. Like my past movies, there would be romance in it. Asin has done her best. Vadivelu will bring the roof down with laughter”.
